David Turner, President, Chief Executive Officer & Chairman of the Board
David Turner is president and chief executive officer for Hitachi Data Systems Federal, and serves as chairman on the company’s Board of Directors. A 20-year public sector industry veteran, David has a reputation for revitalizing companies to deliver increased value by driving operational excellence and championing business transformation. Responsible for formulating and executing long-term growth strategies David is also focused on transforming Hitachi Data Systems Federal into a leading, full-service next-generation data services company.
Prior to joining HDS Federal, David served as president for the Applied Technology & Operational Services Group at Akima, a leading holding company that supports a diverse portfolio of Federal and Commercial service providers. While there, he held responsibility for managing five companies who served Federal defense and civilian clients with mission critical solutions and managed the company’s business strategy. Prior to Akima he served as senior vice president at Affiliated Computer Services. Earlier in his career he held roles with American Management Systems as senior principal, and director at McDonald Bradley (now ManTech International Corporation).
David earned a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh’s Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business and earned a Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology from the University of Michigan. He serves on the Board of Trustees for the Highland School and is an active member in its mission of preparing students for life-long success.
Matt Brooks, Chief Operating Officer
Matt Brooks is chief operating officer for Hitachi Data Systems Federal. He’s a seasoned industry expert with 20 plus years of experience in government sales, technical/business consulting and program management. Known for his deep knowledge of Federal Government business operations, Matt is responsible for managing the company’s channel development program with value added resellers, system integrators and original equipment manufacturers. Matt also leads the Federal Hitachi Insight Group, an organization dedicated to driving business and societal transformation through digitalization.
Matt joined the company in 2012 as a business development manager. Prior to his current role he served as director of systems integrators. Before joining Hitachi Data Systems Federal, Matt worked at Capgemini Government Solutions, where he supported the national security business unit and worldwide information technology management consulting efforts for public security. He has also held sales roles at Lee Technologies, EES Inc. and International Paper Corporation.
Matt earned a Master’s in Administration from the College of William and Mary as well as a Bachelor of Arts in government.
Brian Houston, Chief Technology Officer
Brian Houston brings more than 15 years of technical sales experience and leads the engineering team responsible for helping customers transform their federal infrastructures with cutting edge technologies. Houston and his team support pre-sales, post sales and solution services at HDS Federal. Prior to HDS Federal, Houston served as data center manager for Wellpoint Blue Cross Blue Shield, worked at Hitachi Data Systems as a senior customer engineer and was an electronic warfare specialist in the United States Navy.
Don Godwin, Chief Financial Officer
Don Godwin is chief financial officer for Hitachi Data System Federal. An accomplished senior financial executive with more than 20 years of experience in finance and operations management, Don is known for his ability to restructure underperforming operations and reduce operating costs to increase profitability and productivity. Having overall financial operations responsibility for the company including corporate controllership, treasury, and tax, Don is dedicated to strengthening the company’s financial management and improving financial accountability.
Prior to joining Hitachi Data Systems Federal, Don served a 20-year tenure at Harris Corporation and its predecessor companies as chief financial officer for its Critical Networks and Information Systems business units.
Don earned his Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Virginia Tech University and is a CPA.
David Funk, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
David Funk is general counsel and corporate secretary for Hitachi Data Systems Federal. Known for his well-balanced combination of legal and business acumen, David possesses 15 years of legal experience in the Federal and commercial sectors. Responsible for the company’s legal, contractual and industrial security compliance, David is passionate about creating a business-partner culture within the legal and contracts functions, and instilling an ethos of compliance that increases contractual and legal transparency for key stakeholders.
Prior to joining Hitachi Data Systems Federal, David served as general counsel and director of contracts for Govplace, Inc., an IT government technology integrator. Earlier in his career he held senior roles within the U.S. Federal Government including attorney advisor with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Senior Advisor with the U.S. Department of State.
David earned his J.D. from Villanova University School of Law and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Pennsylvania State University. Between college and law school, David served as a Signals Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Amy Miller (A.M.) Feehery, Vice President of Sales
Amy Miller Feehery is vice president of sales for Hitachi Data Systems Federal. With 15 years of industry experience leading teams in requirements definition and providing innovative solutions to government clients, she is known for her deep expertise in developing strong customer relationships and implementing customer-centric strategies. Responsible for the company’s sales performance and marketing, Amy Miller also spearheads efforts to expand the company’s market presence and leadership position in the Federal IT arena.
Prior to joining HDS Federal, Amy Miller held leadership positions at STS International, Harris Corporation, and Exelis, Inc.
Amy Miller earned a Master’s Degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and is currently an ambassador for the Navy SEAL Foundation. She has served on numerous not-for-profit boards and participated as both a board member and member of defense industry and trade associations.
